In Level 5, I took the initiative to make a joke out of my last name, after all, it very obviously has the word 'cock' in it which I unfortunately cannot avoid at this point in my life. It is an ugly name I have to live with - I tried to work around this by drawing even more attention to it, and basing a major point of the branding from this, with the tagline "you try branding a cock". This worked for me for level 5, however this year I want to progress on from this and use a more professional approach. Although I feel like the personal branding did reflect who I am and my personality, I also want to communicate to clients and potential employers that being rude and light hearted is not the only part of my personality.
However, the logo for the personal branding last year was a scythe, roughly drawn using ink and vectorised. It represents reaping rewards from hard work. I like this concept, and have plans to try and develop on from this in level 6.
Although I will be using my name within the branding, it will not be the focal point. I would prefer to only use my first name somehow, but still include my last name so people know who I am.
